Armada ‘Ohana: family picnic on the beach at sunset

We had the pleasure of capturing memories for this beautiful family not once, but twice! The first session was during sunrise out on Maui’s west side, where we explored Honolua Bay Forest and Mokuleʻia Beach. We were soo stoked when Vanessa and Mark told us they wanted to do a second round of photos when Vanessa’s sister and mom would be in town! This time, we went for sunset on the south side in Kihei. With the little ones, we wanted to make sure they didn’t miss their dinner time. To keep the kids happy and full, we planned to have a beachside picnic as part of their photo session! I coordinated with Vanessa ahead of time to collaborate on styling, and brought beach blankets that coordinated with their outfits. Vanessa and her sister Rachel put together the most gorgeous and yummy charcuterie board, garnished with fresh-picked flowers! After a bit of snacking, the kids were ready to play, and the ocean called their names. They had the most fun getting soaked - not to mention, making sure every single one of us left the beach dripping wet, too!
