Charnelle + Aaron: upcountry maui wedding
Most weddings have one or two people that we affectionately call “party starters.”
They are normally easy to find.
First on the dance floor, last one off, always making everyone laugh and smile.
Maybe you can imagine who that person is in your group. Maybe that fun-loving uncle you have, or your best friend from childhood.
At Charnelle and Aaron’s intimate upcountry Maui wedding, every single one of their guests brought the party! Just look at all the energy, excitement, and true bliss as they all celebrated this beautiful wedding day.
These two homegrown Maui locals love to look back on their meet-cute story, affectionately calling it a “Baywatch moment.” They were introduced by mutual friends over at Big Beach (aka Makena Beach State Park). It’s one of their favorite places to spend time together, whether it’s surfing, swimming, or just relaxing! They originally wanted to have their wedding there, before they decided on upcountry Polipoli with a reception at the Ali’i Kula Lavender Farm.
But here’s the sweetest detail — as they got ready in their separate suites at the Marriott Residence Inn in Wailea, the artwork featured on the walls in each of their rooms was a huge photograph of Big Beach, in the exact spot where they met! Aaron pointed it out to us while he was getting ready, buttoning up his cuff links. He was all smiles as he looked fondly on that photo, feeling all the memories coinciding with this unforgettable milestone in their relationship.
